Mount San Gorgonio is the highest point in Southern California at 11,505. Our target for Thursday is Jepson Peak, 11,200 along the same ridge.

Here is a better shot of Mt. San Jacinto, above the Palm Springs Tramway, it was occluded in the video.

Now after this, I'll be just one TR behind. Last Sunday we did a 4am alpine start to an area we call Avy 2, a high cirque on a peak called Alto Diablo here in SoCal.

Provincial parks in Alberta opened up again on Friday. We went out for a tour yesterday. I was really happy to be on skis again!

Some highlights from a bluebird day on the French-Haig-Robertson traverse: Peter Lougheed Provincial Park, Alberta (and a bit of BC).

It's a nice day along the divide. You climb the small French glacier, cross part of the Haig glacier (where the Canadian x-country ski team trains in the summer) and ski down the Robertson. Snow was pretty nice on all the glaciers, but it was warm in the valley.

@Mike Rogers , great pictures! Such gorgeous terrain!
Just before everything shut down down, I was trying to plan a long weekend up there for right around now :nono:

Back at the end of April, just a few days after my last trip (post#183), two of us went up for an overnighter to Jepson Peak here in SoCal. Some pics.

This is my final TR of the '19/20 season. Back in mid-May my splitter buddy Chris and I went back into the San Gorgonio Wilderness for one last run. The snow line had melted out up over 9k now, so it was a bit of a slog, but worth it as always. .

Summit ridge, Dry Lake camp at right center. On clear days you can see Mt. Charleston near Vegas, Telescope Peak above Death Valley, the South Sierra and Tehachapi's, even the Pacific on really rare occasions.
