With the early snowfall in Colorado, Aspen and Aspen Snowmass are opening earlier than planned
Aspen Mountain and Snowmass will open Saturday, five days early

$109 tickets for about 5-10% of the mountain open. Don't think I will drive 800 miles for it.

Yeah... that makes it seem like it's more for passholders. Although 10% of Snowmass is still pretty large looking at it from my part of the country.

I think it is awesome for Skico to do this.
Probably not easy to coordinate enough lift operaters, restaurant workers etc. to have enough staff to open the mountains ahead of schedule.

Yes, likely most of the skiers will be passholders and employees so this is not a money making operation.
