So what boots do you use?

It's in the post: Koflach plastic mountaineering boots and touring boots in walk mode.

Make sure you can heel-toe the skiblades when clicked in. Use that heel-toe position for long, stable arcs, no short leg-long leg needed.

Make sure the binding heelpiece doesn't clash against the ski/walk lever.

Phil has a pair that we used on the ski deck.
I'll see if I can find pictures.

here's your solution, the Skwal:

Such a pretty product, such a shame they forgot to cut it in half.

You forgot the teleboard (<-click) which actually does a better job of adaptably weighting the front and back foot.

Snowblades: 90% of the long turn stability of a skwal and still be able to skate to the lift.

Moment sells the Frankenblade, their skiboard. Would be fun to mount with some cheap but durable bindings for messing around on.

Even more fun to mount with touring or tele for fun out the back door. Rando blades/ jakt skis
are a thing you know.
Wait...these would be probably good to LEARN how to tele, no? Maybe easier than traditional skis for getting the balance right. I always struggled with that on tele.

Can't speak to the Moments, but K2 had a similar idea with the Small World - 140cm twintip with 12m radius and 40mm factory lifter. Back when they still did tele, ofc.

Just found these. Very interesting. Lengths 125 and 145. Synthetic hair on the base.

^those are super awesome for relatively steep (read: easy blue terrain) uphill climbing without switchbacking but are not all that great for downhill edging. That and it's buddy, the Marquette Backcountry Ski, https://www.snapperhead-inventions.com/ are easily the best way for skiers to hang with snowshoeing friends without actually having to run downhill in a double-wide stance.

Of course, anything over 120cm and you'll have major trouble achieving a truly scissored stance; descending like an inline skater is out and one has to go tele or suffer through the wobblies.
