I'm going to be doing a multi-day spring skiing trip in a week or so including Squaw and Mammoth. I'll definitely be doing a full hot wax with warm weather wax before I go but I was wondering if there was anything I could do while on the road to make it last a little longer. Anyone have any rub on or cork in solutions they like? Is this even worth it? Not really interested in something like DPS Phantom for the particular set of skis I'll be using.

Thanks!

Try to get it now on sale as it's expensive.
Fluorinated graphite 8 (swix) for iron in if it's dirty snow in the spring. That's $ too.

Great thanks for all the suggestions guys! I'll try to see what I can find deals on and get here in time.

For the iron on before I go I have a lot of left over wax from my racing days which are now over so I am thinking Molybdenum base + HF Warm weather wax.

Wow, $60 bucks for 40 grams!! How many applications would you say you get out of a bar?
$55 worth. (Price at Tognar.com)
Enough that you sort of forget about it, not enough to lend it to everyone.

To have butter last longest, you really need some fluoros in the base. You could just go with Dominator Hyperzoom and skip the Butter, or Butter over when real wet conditions.

Hyper can be rubbed on or ironed.

There's also a Dominator paste wax product, Momentium Warm. Never used it.

Be aware that graphite isn't hydrophobic, so it needs other waxes with it.

Started with Toko wipe on wax years ago. Good for couple of runs.
Switch to F4 paste wax. Good for about half day of skiing.
Couple years ago , switched to a small bar of rub on F4 followed by corking. Much less expensive and good for half day of skiing.
This season we have been using rub on F4 Premium Warm followed by corking. Good for a whole day of skiing.
