Love battered onion rings. Only the ones with a real ring of onion inside. Not the extruded onion flavored dough type.
It has to be fresh. Otherwise the dough just dies on ya.
Agree with @Muleski , good sweet potato fries is simply amazing.

Neither, but on the rare occasion like once every other total eclipse of the sun it would be French Fries I cut from Yukon Gold Potatoes and fry in Olive Oil.

*Breaded and fried: Eggplant, Veal, Sea Scallops or Chicken Breast again always fried in Olive Oil.

** I no longer fry Crab Cakes, the Dean & DeLuca recipe is where it's at!

Never prepared them myself, only had 'em out because they looked like the safest thing on the menu. Was disappointed, could only eat so much (not much), before they began to be too much taste wise.

I picked FF, because ORs are usually just too greasy most of the time, but if you can get ORs done just right and not too greasy then they can be a treat. I'm the chef of my family and a foodie at heart, but I don't deep fry things, so I leave that to other chefs and indulge accordingly.

Fries. The best for my money is Killer Burger, at various Portland Oregon locations.

But tater tots. Yum. Not frequently offered, so I always say "yes" when the opportunity arises.

Uninteresting personal factoid: French fries and tater tots are the ONLY deep fried thing I ever eat.
