All the way back and missing .25 !! I imagine I should move the toe ... ??
Yes, move the toe forward but not more than two CM's. Plan to have the heel end up in the middle of it's tract.

Found this weekend ... sometimes you get lucky ... Spalding poles circa the '70 or so I would think . I like the leather strap with the ''Spalding Italy '' ... sadly they are too small for me .

What length are they, you can make them a little longer, I have added two inches to a pair of poles using a wooden dowel. I figure you could add about half the length of the grip.

No use ... I am very partial to the old Kerma Synchro ... I have a few pairs ... heavy but I like the offset ... These Spalding will stay in my little collection .

beware the plastic in those old LOOKs. they are from the era that gets very brittle with age.

I'm not a spalding expert, but two models I don't know much about.
Spalding Era 320 and Spalding TF Alu
The ERA 320 has the S 222 bindings that should date it to the late 1970's and an intermediate binding at best. The ski is in the short wide round tip group with not much of a side cut. It was made for someone that learned to ski by GLM teaching method a real slider.
The TF Alu is from the 1960's around the same time as the Fisher Alu was around. The older Marker bindings would match up with the ski time frame. The performance of the ski would be for an advanced skier but not racing level.

One hell of an afternoon in a meeting with engineers who were convinced that their gadget with pulleys , tensioners , chains , bearings and all was better than a simple '' arbre à came '' ... a camshaft ! I told them to rehydrate Henri Ford and suggest him their design . This morning , another meeting with the sames and they were arguing with me that , in a train , the rocking movement we feel was due to the way the power is transmitted to the wheels , the long shaft you see in movies ...
I had to get out at 14:00 ... that was too much for me !!!

I went to a second hand store to check for books and look at what I found !
My favorite ski brand ...
I was thinking I would never see again a pair of red Sideral . Unless I was sending a nice check to a collector somewhere .

And now I am the proud owner of these that I will try tomorrow at the little hill where I ski out of bound ... for sure ! It is not even a ski hill and people are going up by bus !
Powder with 195 Spalding Sideral team ?
Along with the Rossignol Bandit 178 ...

What a day it will be !!!

I can't recommend enough the Sideral for powder skiing ...
Well , you would have to find them first but my day on them was magical .

It is a shame ... but if I found a pair , there must be others hiding somewhere !

In my quest to find the best Spalding skis ... and to ski them ...
Yes , because why buy a pair of skis if you can't try them at least once ?
Or more than once ?

In this quest , I was lucky this week !
Not only I found the K2 Extreme Ice Ski ... but the seller had a surprise for me .
Yes , yes ... Spalding Sideral 450 Squadra Corse !!!
208 cm
If I remember well , this model was from 1979 . they had Salomon bindings on but at some point the owner changed for Look N17 .
Scale from 1 to 5 : what can go wrong ? And stainless too ...

Bonus for Philpug : a nice R with the serial number .

Will I ski them ?
You bet !
And with my Salomon SX91 Equipe !!

I wish I could try them this evening but , sadly , it is 35c outside .
Their time will come , for sure !
