There is so much awesome in this thread. Wow.

Does anyone have a pair (or have seen a pair) of the Mahre SSL? I saw them on Craigslist several years ago and the seller never replied to me. I've never seen another pair. Seemed to me to have graphics similar to the '87 or '88 K2 line.

Here is an awesome Leroy Neiman painting called "Twins" Signed by Leroy, Phil and Steve. It will be hung in the K2 wing at Chez Ziggy.

Here is a 244 I have not seen. SC Super Compact? Short Compact? Short Canada? 160s only but have the N77 that may find themselves on other skis one day.

Here is a ski that I eluded to at some point earlier. K2 made a "shop employee ski" that was the VO Slalom with the KVC graphic. I originally remembered the ski being the all pink KVC but is was actually the yellow to pink fade from 91ish which makes sense. The already had the EIS that was the same graphic motif as the pink ski and these were the next generation. These were posted in the Elite Skiing Facebook group by Scott Stewart, who I actually worked with/for back at Wicks Ski Shop in the early 1990's. Like my VO's this is a very rare unmounted pair. 1 of 250 produced with these graphics.

These were they first non-embarrassing skis I had, probably around age 9 or so. Somewhat the worse for wear, but still in existence. I'm not sure how they got those Spademan bindings on them. I think that was hand-me-down related, or possibly hand-me-up to my mother of something to use as rock skis. Shiny tops, yellow base, skinny logo.

Ok, there are better photos of K2 barn higher up, but I took this one, in the spring of 1971. I'm not sure about the claim that it lasted 35 years, though.

I also had the 2001-apes poster and the Uncle Sam poster on the wall of my room for many years.

Phil, do you know what the tails looked like? The middle picture is a little too blurry to see--does it just have the standard KVC Comp on the tail?

Interesting they made so many skis with that graphic.

The dancing skeletons cleaned up very well and are in quite nice shape except for base crackling at the tips. Thick surface rust on the edges but very little pitting. If I take them out I may put the N77 on them.

A little interesting, thirteen of the skeletons are all a little different and then they repeat. At first I thought the headless ones were just a little unlucky and got stabbed with a pole or scuffed off in some way.

edit I am sure there will be silent critique of the edge finish but if I take them out they will get the next level treatment : )

Was watching EMERGENCY while I was working out today. Chet buys a pair of K2 skis and sets them on fire when he is p-texing the bases.

I have the matching SC poles. If you want them, let me know...I am sure we can trade something.
