As the plaque on the display posted here reads, “Many of the models were designed by and named for famous skiers of the era-Dick Durrance, Barney McLean, Otto Schniebs, etc.”
I picked up this pair of Groswold “Durrance” branded skis, signed by Dick Durrance some years back after a guy in Sun Valley posted a classified ad listing them for sale in the local paper but they were misidentified as being signed by “Dick Durrant”. I suspected this was an error and was glad to find out it was.
The fellow that sold them to me had acquired the skis and brought them to a book signing for Durrance’s book “Man on the Medal” in the mid nineties to have Durrance sign them.
I have not seen any other skier branded Groswold skis...anyone...I would love to see some.

I went to high school with Karol Ann Groswold . Her father and grandfather were icons in the ski community in Denver.

She is my neighbor.
A couple of years ago, a small outfit in Denver made skis under the Groswold name.
