Note: I am a former hunter
I find it appalling that someone would remove hunting equipment! IF in fact it was there longer than the allotted time (speculated at 30 days) then the authorities should have been notified and they could have taken action. A “concerned citizen” has in my mind ZERO rights to take matters into their own hands. Based on the facts as we know them, the husband/wife clearly broke the law and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The secondary fact that the “concerned citizens” (my words) felt the need to remove equipment that they felt was there longer than the law allowed, they should have taken said equipment to the authorities in a worst case scenario. Of course as already stated, the correct thing to do would have been to report the supposed infractction to the authorities.
Taking the law into their own hands is NOT the way to handle the situation.
That dude can apologize all he wants, he still broke the law, and they should be punished IF a court finds them guilty.
Age old question, is he sorry he did it, or is he sorry he got caught? I think the later!
