I couldn’t quite call the season done so I snuck up to Brighton for the morning. Never been there before so I enjoyed the quiet groomers

it was a beautiful spring day

until the storm came in


temps dropped fast. started snowing hard top of the ridge line. Took a few more runs in heavy snow wearing a hiking vest and shades. Top of snake creek to the parking lot the precipitation changed from snow to a rainy mix. As i was putting on dry winter gear the thunder started rumbling over and over. Thundersnow!. Brighton kept the lifts spinning but i got out of there . I dont mess with lightning. driving down canyon just below Brighton it was a pure rain storm . Solitude appeared to be completely shut down . Thats Spring skiing

27 apr 2024 snowbird, 4" new but extremely variable snow and viz. Early was best. Viz bad all over by noon.
Arrived at 930 am, viz still good.




High Baldy terrain looked good

And Parts of cirque


Snow kind heavy in mineral sunshine


Good snow in lil cloud


1st for us, got free breakfast burritos from Snowbird employee while booting up near chickadee. Ate it later in summit restaurant.


By noon viz went to crap and there was a wet mist. we called it.


Down in the valley it was raining the whole time so we were lucky to get what we got.

Tomorrow should have better viz but maybe not as good snow.?
