Philpug: Playful. That's the first word that came to mind when I got on the Enforcer 104 Free. The forebody of the ski reminds me of the Enforcer 100 when entering the turn in 3D snow, but as the turn progresses, the 104 Free comes into its own. The back half of the all-new ski is mostly that: all new (it has been out for a year or so on the Enforcer 110 Free), and the tail allows the back half to be worked more than the narrower 100s.

Insider tip: This could coexist with an Enforcer 88, 93, or even 100 in the same quiver.

You liked your Sole 7's on a powder day, but realized they don't like crud and have no edge grip on firmer bits of the hill? This is your replace upgrade. Good, fun sticks!

The Enforcer 104 is an excellent ski, offering a bit more versatility than my Enforcer 100's. Works well in a variety of resort terrain, handling fresh snow up to 18" or so, cut-up crud, soft bumps, west coast non-icy hardpack groomers, and spring slush.

Coupled with an Enforcer 88, it would make an excellent 2SQ for most recreational resort skiing.

I'm looking at this ski as an addition to my quiver; most of my skis are in the 178 / 180 range (except for the Head iTitans at 170) but 180 is usually the 3rd size in a 4 size offering. So should I be on the 179 or 186? I'm not sure I'm ready for a 186cm ski at 6'-0" / 160lbs. I graduated to the advanced class last year but not a powerful guy by any means.

Any thoughts on Enforcer 104 Free vs Salomon Stance 102?
Find the Stance 102 to be in-between the more Freeride/off piste biased Enforcer 104 and the more traditional, less tapered on piste biased Mantra 102.
More forgiving off piste vs the Mantra and a bit better on firm snow than the Enforcer 104. The longer turn radius of the Stance 102 makes it more stable at speed vs the E104.

The 179cm mounted on the line would be perfect for your size and ability level.
