Beaver Creek Gorsuch location carries Stockli (2020 stock), and recently were on mega-sale shortly before I left and the apocalypse hit. Discount for new, unsold stock was comparable to what @Started at 53 mentions above (roughly 35% off). I demoed the Laser AR from them while I was there. Their deeply discounted sale was ~2 days long, since everything was shuttered shortly thereafter. No idea if they have anything left or if they deeply discount for phone order. Might just be for walk-ins.

If you can get someone on the phone, they may be very eager to unload remaining stock...

They also had some demo stockli for sale.

My guess is many shops are in a similar mode and all may not be internet/flea-bay savvy. May be worth calling around.

Bear in mind that AlpedHuez and I live in Europe, so whatever the price is we have to add VAT-20% and customs duties, so it needs to be a REALLY good price.. :)

Understood - you could try some of the shops around the ski resorts that closed early in Europe.

What if it’s used, still VAT?

Does not matter. If the invoice value is above certain threshold -39 GBP for gifts and 15 GBP for other goods you are due 20% VAT. And it is imposed over the total invoice value-including shipping costs.
Weird, I know, but it is what it is.
And then we are due some customs duties etc.

There are of course certain ways around it, which I wont discuss here for who knows who is reading these forums...:):) but these are the rules in general.

This is the reason why Apple products for instance are that much more expensive this side of the pond.

Sometimes I envy you guys, you have it all much cheaper over there...

PM me if you want the email of the hard goods manager in Vail for Gorsuch. We have already traded some emails on demos that they are selling.

$469 w/ Tyrolia 13din demos. The picture of the 182’s wasn’t too bad. I’m passing on them and maybe ill actually ski my Kastle MX83’s. Think they have 175s too.

@Jim McDonald I had not gone to the website, had received an email and didn’t know if they wanted the email out. @Tony Storaro those SR95s are most likely 19/20 - they are pretty hard to f’up as the metal top sheet Billy sent me pics, assume he would do the same for you.

Top sheets of the SR95 are metal, the graphics are directly printed onto the upper titanal sheet and unlike the plastic top sheets in other skis are very very durable.

By the way, the turtle shell top sheet of the AX is VERY durable and scratch-proof, unlike the top sheets of the SL and GS and well...the others that are not turtle shell...

The way that last statement reads, it sounds like you're saying the topsheet is the turtle shell, but it is not. Turtle shell is the titanal layer being cut into segments that soften the flex of the metal layer until it is flexed sufficiently for the segments to "connect" which in turn stiffen the ski. The polyamid topsheet is covered in "nubs" that help deflect and cover-up any scratches.

I know. But it actually goes both ways. Look closer at the top sheet of the AX-it is shaped as turtle shell... :)

P.S. They call it Turtle grip-it is available on X models only-AX, SX, MX and CX (which also have the Turtle Shell tech cuts in the metal sheets) and in my view is far superior to the 3.0 Top sheet on the other Lasers, which scratches fairly easily.

I know what you're saying. The topsheet is "embossed" with the turtle shell-like pattern, but referring to that as Stockli's turtle shell confuses it with the titanal layer technology.

BTW - the topsheet texture works well on the lighter color topsheets, but sucks on the darker ones like the CX. The previous textures they have used over the years are far superior IMHO. My Laser CX from 2014 still looks brand new. The 2019 version looked old after a couple days.

Looking for some advice in sizing 2020 Stormriders. I’m a solid upper intermediate skier who just returned a few years ago. I ski the east and currently have 2019 AXs (182) and Rustler 9s (180). Was looking at the SRs as I’m starting to go off trail and also wanted something for the spring snow/crud days. The Rustlers are fun but just too short with their rocker. I’m considering the SRs but debating between the 184s and 193s. Leaning towards the 184s but I’m not sure if they ski close to size. I’m 6’3” and 250 so skis bend under me.
