Wow... why so many tracks at Rose and so few at Squaw? Is Rose open for skinning and not Squaw?
Rose is on Forest Service property. I don't know about Squaw. And these tracks are just from today, and later in the day at that. As my upstream post showed, you couldn't even see up there this morning.

A friend of a friend posted this from the Slide side of Mt Rose on Facebook this morning with the following caption:
"An entire ski resort to ourselves with 18”+ of new snow and about 11 degrees at the start!!
The rule is minimum 6’ radius turns to stay socially distant!"

I'm going to imagine this is the same guy skiing again and again, working on his Super-G, GS, and slalom turns in succession.

Nice S turns...painful to the less ethical side of my conscience. The amount of snow flying up shows a light cold dry snow quality too.

Hit up the Xc trails above Incline this morning. Nevada Nordics been keeping up the grooming around 2x a week. Hopefully they're able to keep it up with the new restrictions the Nevada governor put into effect as of tonight pertaining to golf courses and some recreation.

Maybe saw 1/2 a dozen people on the trail while I was out. Diamond peak looks pretty good from up there!

I had to go to Reno this morning and decided to take Mt. Rose Highway back. Beautiful day!

I was surprised at how many cars were parked at the pullout areas around the top of Mt. Rose. We easily passed 100+ cars parked on the side of the road in the various pullout spots. A lot of folks were setting up or returning from backcountry skiing.

My wife having some fun while I’m trying to take a panorama.

Yeah, I was up there this morning, pretty gorgeous. 3-4” of freshies above 8000’ out of that little storm. Just light rain here at the house last night. Got out just after the groomer finished his pass this morning. Turned pretty manky by noon sadly.

Wow, Ikon seems to have finally settled on its policies for 20-21 and if they take your money but there's no ski season, or only some resorts open, or they open and then close again abruptly, Ikon wants to assure you that ... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

***

IF I PURCHASE A 20/21 IKON PASS AND DESTINATIONS DO NOT OPEN FOR WINTER 20/21, WILL I GET A REFUND?

At this time, all Ikon Pass destinations plan to be open for the 20/21 winter season. All Ikon Pass, Ikon Base Pass, and Ikon Base Plus Pass purchases paid-in-full are non-refundable.
