This past week, on the north, Ruby Gulch, side of Mt Parnassus (a mountain also above I-70 to the northeast of Hermann Gulch exit 118), I could see there was ice and what looked like snow/ice or snow/hail mix in large patches at something like 12,700-12,900 feet or so, above me. (I was only at about 12,300-12,500 ft or so.)
Almost certainly temporary, but hopeful.
Twice before, this past week, I've hiked past much smaller ice/hail remains - near the top of the Beavers at A Basin and near the top of Lift One, Chet's Dream, at Loveland.
(At least it's something, in such a warm late September.)
