I did! Copper was empty, and I needed a sneaky storm. Both boxes checked.

It was empty today and Copper needed a storm, sneaky or otherwise, also. The 1st couple of hours were really good. Even later in the day with all the popular runs skied and chopped up the snow was still soft and fun. It's amazing how quickly things can get skied off even when there isn't a lot of people.

Unless you know where to look. @SBrown is professional at finding the goods at Copper. I’ve been fortunate to try and keep up with her for years there.

The storm that delivered on Wednesday and Thursday continued to deliver today.

With my brother visiting on his annual western tour.

2 days into AIARE avy 1 at Crested Butte through Irwin Guides with two of my sons. 24 people in this session, it’s been fantastic.

Day 1 - beacon rescue training

Digging pits, confirming propagation of a weak layer from Dec 24th storm, and skiing some glade pow that turned into sun crust down lower. Tomorrow is no classroom, all tour and field observation.

(Saturday) had not skied at BC for a long time, seemed super crowded everywhere but the liftlines. Which was weird. Given the snow the last couple of days, groomers were pretty scraped off and hard, offpiste was nice until Sun hit it and started to get a bit heavy (compared to Aspen blower 2 weeks ago) mid - upper 30s on the hill.

((Sunday) drove over to Vail, what a difference - way more coverage, offpiste snow was not sun baked even late this afternoon. Mongolia was very nice.

I'm hoping to connect with @bamaman one day this week at Keystone. Probably 29 or 30th.

Steamboat ticket question: online I see they are $199 per day. Is the window rate even higher?

I have an Ikon Pass but am meeting 3 friends for 2 days of skiing and am trying the figure out how to help them out. Is the Ikon buddy pass discount off the window rate? And if so, does that mean the window rate is like $220?
