Hello,
I can't wait to this coming winter as you. I would like to hear the impressions of skiers who have the same physique as me.
I'm a Men (Age: 58, Hight: 165cm, Weight: 68kg, ISIA GOLD Prize)

I bought two ski pairs recently ( 2019/20 Renown Atlas (170cm), Citadel (178cm) with BAM Pinding ). I chatted with Renoun's sales staff at the time of purchase because I've never joined their ski test program. Of course, I know the best for me to go skiing after falling snow.... Could you give me your impressions before that?

I think the Atlas is focus for grooming and the Citadel is focus for backcountry and OFF PISTE.
BAM PINDING for Citadel is start to delivery to early bird users and others soon ( this Autumn to coming Winter )

Below are the skis I am using now.
2018/19 Augment SL WC (165cm)
2017/18 Whitedot R98 (176cm), PREACHER (179cm)
2015/16 Extrem Project100 (179cm)
2015/16 MOMENT DEATHWISH (176cm)

There seems to be no petite person :) Everyone, Please give me your impressions.

I think these two skis are versatile.
About how to use these skis...
> On a sloped terrain
I'm going to use Atlas like a little shorter GS SKI because I'm using AUGMENT SL WC (Soft flex).

> From side country to back country
I will use either Citadel or Whitedot R98 and I will choose Citadel when I want more buoyancy than R98.

These four are the main items this year.

Self Review again,

I watched B.A.M website has been updated. They don't make the English version yet, still written in German. Please use the translation function such as Google if necessary.

About B.A.M Pinding,
Some metal parts turned blue, but they didn't seem to have made any major changes to the bindings. I haven't received the product yet, so I will upload photos of the binding when I got it. The weight is still 1390g, which is either one pair weight or single item weight?

B.A.M URL

PS: An article about the RENOUN Citadel114 prototype appeared in Blister reviews now. Is the PUGSKI testing it too?

PS: I received a discount code from Renoun. It's a popular friend introduction program. When a friend buys skis using my code, I and each of my friends get a discount.
If you have a friend of the renoun ski user, please contact your friend. Have a happy skiing!!

My German was just passable to read it. :)

I can't wait to see the Blister review when they get it on the snow.

This is a status report....

I got two ski pairs from Renown and it has been tuned up.
However, the BAM bindings has not arrived yet. Because it had a little problem.

One is...
I was going to attach BAM binding to Citadel. But the brake width of BAM was changed without notice. The development version has 110 mm, but the commercial version seems to be 105 mm. This is smaller than the Citadel 106mm and requires additional work. I have sent them an answer on this issue, but I have not received a response yet. When can I become the first BAM user in Japan?

Another is ....
In this ski season I haven't gone skiing yet due to my busy work, lol. And ski resorts in Japan have a record lack of snow. Most ski resorts have opened in the last few days. However, there are not many ski resorts that can run on all courses. I will go to Hokkaido next weekend, but I think that trip will probably be my first skiing. I plan to bring Atlas and Citadel and Can I get BAM bindings by then? Wish my luck...

I will back after the hokkaido trip or got the BAM bindings before going to hokkaido. Talk to you later...

It seems that sales have started in some shops.

The BAM is an interesting binding for touring -> pin toe for ascent, traditional toe for descent. A bit different from the Shift. They do have an English version on their site:

Their brake deosn't look like anything out of the ordinary
If their brake is 105 and the Citadel 106, the 1mm difference is negligible to bend

I'm running 115mm width brakes on 116mm width ski. There is enough tolerance to work just fine. Yours will probably work fine as well. At 1mm I doubt you would need to bend it.

About Atlas 170cm ( tried on and off piste )

I used Atlas on January 20 at Rusutsu ski resort in Hokkaido. I will report a detailed impression at a later date.
I compared the operability and gliding performance with my competition ski (Augment WC SL 165 cm / soft flex level 8).

The price is high, but I think it is a good ski. If you can't love it, you can return it. There is no ski company that can do this in the world.
In my opinion, I don't have to worry about height or weight. I think the length is either shorter or longer than 170cm. Is it 163cm for carving and 177cm for stability?

I will use the Citadel with BAM next month....

Return of the my review of about Atlas 170cm !!

Sorry, it's been a while since I posted. I was able to ski in various snow conditions because little snow here in Japan this year.

Binding : Marker griffon
Boots : LANG ZJ +, Size is 24.5cm (BSL = 285mm)

Day1 / Rustu Ski Resort in Rusutsu, Hokkai-do
Date: January 19th. Cloudy. Snow falls all day. The temperature was high and the snow was wet like March.

On this day, I used Atlas for the first time. First I lifted it by hand. Not too heavy, but not too light. I put on my skis and moved my feet. I felt the weight of the ski board only at my feet. And I skied on a gentle slope. It was a wet, hard slope. My first impression was that it was easy to go straight. Next is I went skiing on the middle slope with a wet powder of about 30cm. I dIdn't feel much floting power. But no worry about if the skis dive in the snow. Then I enjoyed skiing without any problems. There is no problem with tree run. Operation from edge to edge is also comfortable.

Day2 / Kagura Ski Resort in Echigoyuzawa, Niigata-ken
The date is January 26. Sunny, low temperature and cold. Good condition by snowfall until the day before. I enjoyed grooming snow and powder snow of about 20cm.

I got a different impression from the last time. The difference is between hard snow and powder snow. In hard snow, always better to be aware of edging. In light powder snow, maybe it feels like here on the clouds. In the evening, I skied on wet hard snow. There are few people and it is not bumpy yet. I made a razor line without vibration. I did not feel the effect of HDT.

Day3 / Ishiuchi Maruyama Ski Resort in Echigoyuzawa, Niigata-ken
The date is February 1. Sunny, slightly cold (not cold). Good condition with snowfall.

Record snow fell the day before. All courses are open, but the rough and hard slopes are hidden under the snow. For the first time, I understood the identity of Atlas. Ski flex is not very stiff. However, it doesn't feel like a ski for competition because I was hard to feel the deflection. And I felt the ski flex is hard at both low and high speeds. I think this is due to the metal content, not the effect of HDT.

And I was surprised at the steep slope. Edge holding is very strong. It seems to be standing on the ground if it compares. And I could easily move to next situation. It was even more surprising to be able to easily remove the edge from that situation. The operation of the ski is very smooth.

Considering these
I thought that it was better to choose 163cm (170cm or less) is for carving turn and 178cm or longer is more for stability.

I think that even intermediate people can enjoy this board.
However, if you are a highly skilled person, I think you can enjoy skiing more.

Sorry for late review of Renoun Citadel 178cm. My reviews coming soon.

I think Citadel is a versatile ski for advanced and expert. But no worry about for out of the both skiers. Citadel makes your happy skiing days every riding time.
