I was at the coso junction rest area about 40 mi away from Ridgecrest epicenter last night when the quake hit,
actually tossed me around inside my car. icon_eek.gif
Most violent earthquake I've felt as a lifelong californian.

Scary. I was driving my car on the freeway in the East Bay in 1989 when the Loma Prieta earthquake hit. I didn't know what it was, but pulled over because it felt like I had lost steering control of my car. Then the radio announcement came through. I stopped at the store and everything was on the ground.
