Yeah, the way Alta reports groomed trails might make it look like others aren't open, which is probably confusing whatever script/ program pulls the data for Opensnow.

Some Googling also shows 113 of 116 named trails open.

Day 1 of the Weekend Touring and Avalanche Skills Course with Utah Mountain Adventures. Great weather, and spent the day on really enjoyable low angle pow in BCC's Willow Fork. Back for more tomorrow...

Also, to clarify my last post... Nothing wrong with hitting a bunch of rocks at Alta. Just a consequence of going after the good stuff, of which plenty is open. I was able to scare myself delightfully silly through the chutes and cliff bands of supreme bowl. Tools not jewels, got to love skiing more than you love your skis, and all the rest of those cliches... ;)

    Glad to be of service!

Big loop tour of BCC and LCC today. Started the day with a bump from the Milly chairlift at Brighton. Skied down to Twin lakes reservoir and then skinned up Twin lakes pass to LCC. The overlook onto Grizzly gulch and Alta Albion base was quite nice. The pow on the way down wasn't too shabby either:

Skinned to Michigan City, and the early morning clouds and snow showers lifted. Another nice view of Alta below and down canyon as well.

Next, skied to East bowl pass to re-enter BCC and the Silver fork drainage:

Another couple of laps up and down in Silver Fork before calling it a day and skiing back down the drainage to exit through Solitude. A+ for the tour. F- for the last several hundred yards of skate-ski on the road back to Solitude lot 1. ogwink

If you ever get a chance to sign up for a guided tour with Utah Mountain Adventures, highly recommended.

After 5 straight days of skiing, I could use a rest day. But it's supposed to snow tomorrow. Argh. Decisions....

The skiing at alta has been fine and imagine things are good all over. Bundle up tomorrow and be that person that doesn't need to warm up and I bet it will be a treat.

Slept in late. Then storm skiing at snowbird in the late afternoon. Tomorrow should be better.

Really fun storm skiing yesterday afternoon. Can't believe @tromano & I got on the gondy at 3:59 after beginning at 9AM (I did take an out of character lunch break).

Today was fantabulous! Super cold, super busy but somehow ogwink I managed to ski mostly untracked till 1:30 when my legs gave out (shoulda quit earlier yesterday). Easily best day of the season for me :D !

Conditions were good today. My daughter is learning to ski off the groomers this year.

Today (Pow Mow) skied better than at any point last year. I know the report said 6”’ but had knee deep face shot powder today. Yeah, it was brutally cold but the sun was out and the snow was great!

Yeah, the snow quality was as good as I've seen since moving here in 2014. We've had a lot of that this winter.
