That off-white frame color is sweet.

And, it ended with this....

Build is waiting on 2019 XTR 12 speed, my set of enve wheels ("any day now") and should be complete. first I'll just do the enve wheels, and maybe an XTR 12 speed crank for now. When the cassette and chain wear out, I'll get a new free hub body and do the derailleur, cassette, and chain then.

FYI, the bike needs a 32T front ring anyhow.

^Nice. Is that Granite Bay? What size is the front chainring right now?

It's a 30.

And yes, it's Granite Bay. Literally right in my back yard. Nice to have trails back there, even if they aren't auburn-quality.

I like Granite Bay and ride there sometimes. You are lucky to have that in your backyard! I would love to be able to just go out the door for a quick ride. Rockville is easier for me to get to, but it's still a 30 minute drive.

But back to your bike: why do you need to go from 30T front chainring to 32T?

VERY lucky to live where I live. Really amazing area. Love it here.

I spin out with the 30 and feel like I could use the gearing of the 32 better.

I'm riding auburn today, so that'll tell me quite a bit about climbing as well.

I went from 32t to 30 on my bike. The 32 was fine for climbing except on technical sections (especially on a long climb) I sometimes felt like I wanted a lower gear for confidence. I haven't actually used it since having the chainring switched, but the shop was warning me about spinning out. I don't think it will be problem for me though.

Have fun in Auburn!
