Coomba and I skied Silver today (tue) and it was good. 5-6 inches of light dry powder. Couple early runs on chair 3 were good. Best snow of the day was in the Meadows. Fun morniing, keeping up (trying) to keep up with Coomba wore me outs. Small crowd, very cold but snow was excellent, sun even came out in the afternoon.

Anyone heard anything on the Lookout Pass expansion recently?

Should start cutting/logging runs on the expansion as soon as weather allows this spring. Two chairliffs summer of 20 and a new lift replacing chair one with a new bigger capacity lift this summer. New area opening; Fall-Nov. of 20-21 season.

Start 2nd day of "work" tommorrow at Silver being a Host. First Saturday I have been on the Mt. or any Mt. for that matter.

I wasn't planning on going today. Yesterday they hadn't opened the upper mountain and I expected the same today. But they opened the upper lifts at 10:50 and I ran right over. Stupendously beautiful day.

Have a few more. Of course, we are about to go back to "standard visibility" starting tomorrow.
The Ant Hill with a truly gorgeous blue sky.

Nothing like sub zero temps to keep the ants away.

Big Ravine, same day.

Looking from Inspiration to East Rim today. It was warmer (like 6-12 degrees) and the morning sun loosened the snow from the near trees. The trees in the distance will lose their snow in the afternoon.

Anyone ski Lookout today, reporting 7 inches after being closed on Tue ? I was going to go but foound out it was, "4 cans of food and free for Wed". That stopped me.

49* North was outstanding spring skiing today. The groomers stayed good all day, no wind, about 50 at the top (saw bugs flying up there). If you looked for the shade you could find firm snow all the way to the bottom. Still about 14' at the top.

Best Spring Skiing I have had for a very long time.

Sounds the same as here. ^^ Snow has been loosening at around 10:15 and continues until some of it is total goo and becomes sticky. We can still ski a full day with reasonable snow, but you'd better be good at knowing where it will be.

Weather is changing, so things will be different soon.

View of the skier-triggered avalanche (inbounds). There was also a naturally-triggered inbounds avalanche a few days before, fortunately after sweeps. So, two inbounds in under a week. Ski patrol has initiated additional avalanches near that first one that was natural. Closed areas are now not just East Rim and Hellroaring Basin, but also Evan's area and this area, Haskill Slide. I'd guess 50% of the terrain.

Just outside of bounds, Half Moon has also slid, along with Skook Face.
