I appreciate the optimism but I wonder what it will be like up there those last two weekends.

Jeez, I'm surprised. Glad to be wrong about Easter being the closing date.

Would love to get up there one more time.

Ive been meaning to get back up but I'm struggling with it to be honest. My daughter could motivate me, we were supposed to go tomorrow but shes got a stomach bug today.I haven't been skiing since March 26th-ish.

Once it's trail building time I pretty much put the skis away. It sounds weird to most but building trail is my most favorite past time.

Yeah, I start antler hunting in April so it is tough for me to get up the mountain. Looks like more snow next week, winter isn't over.

Did anyone make it up last weekend?

The email yesterday for the upcoming weekend said Agassiz only. Operationally makes a lot of sense as it will be less snow to push down hill.

After a couple years of being spoiled by GCE, a May day on the old slow horse is hard to get pumped up enough for to make the drive.

I almost went up last weekend but discovered they were only running Agassiz chair so I decided not to go for the reason you mentioned. They had the lift on hold half the day last Saturday due to lightning. Sunday looked like it had a pretty good line for part of the day.

I was up there on Saturday morning and got several laps in until the "snow thunder" hold, Conditions were variable, with hard pack at the top, slush at the bottom, and everything in between. There was a layer of new(ish) snow covering the bumps on the off piste runs that were a blast. I think the best run was Casino, more like waves than bumps, but a soft layer on top of a smooth base made for some great turns. The lot looked busy, but I rode straight on Agassiz each run and rode alone. I'm glad I went and got a few runs in. I'm not going up this weekend, but the base should still be deep enough to have some spring fun.

I can’t believe the amount of coverage still up there. I went camping two nights ago and called it at 10 since it was below freezing and I was getting snowed on.

Looking at the forecast and webcams, AZ Snowbowl could probably open this weekend if they wanted to. I hear it is snowing in Flagstaff at 7k.
