Ski3PO and I had a blast there today. That is probably the most snowpack I have seen in NY state. Plenty of snow in the woods and still soft stuff to be found.

That’s good to hear! Will you still be around tomorrow @Phelmut ? Can’t wait to finally ski there. We got in this afternoon and spent the day driving around the area. We went into the antiques store in Roxbury where the owner played some wax canister records for us on an old Edison record player. It was awesome! We then drove around looking for dinner. Ended up at Table on Ten. Highly recommend - great pizza and ambiance. We’re staying at the cutest air bnb. The bathroom is very cozy. I’d actually hang out in there if we were staying longer....This random trip is turning out great!

@SKI-3PO not sure what time we’ll start. Since it’s such a small place I figure I’d just look for you, as long as you are wearing the orangey jacket. Otherwise I’ll text

It was a cold day at Killington today but the skiing was great. I wanted to take more pics but taking my glove off on the mountain wasn’t happening this morning. I actually wore a gaiter today which I almost never do.
I was definitely a contender for narrowest and straightest skis not worn by a real mogul skier :roflmao:(See second picture).

. I figured Stratton would be cold, windy and crowded today so drive over to platekill for season passholder open house. Runs of the double were super soft, huge moguls under chair, smaller ones scattered about. Some crust off triple so did not venture into trees over there. Ski on all day. Winds weren't a problem. Nice mountain with classic trails.

Stowe report. Cold and windy again. Pretty funky snow in places but still found some good stuff. Centerline bumps — which are usually awful— are super nice. Some other bumps are god awful shapes.

Highlight was taking Mrs. @LKLA and LKLA junior out to angel food. A little adventure skiing— the traverse out was a bit wonky — but overall great snow ou there.

Hey @Uncle Louie , you reading this? Yes I guided two people to an out of bounds tree run. Will miracles ever cease? Practicing for my gathering.

It was great, wasn't it this weekend? Colorado snow. I did a weekend bumps camp, so I was hot most of the time — hardly ever cold — and it was my first trip to Killington. The conditions probably gave it an unfair advantage, but what a great mountain!

I was at Plattekill again today. Started a little colder than yesterday. Runs off the triple we’re a bit hard early, but it was an entirely different experience off the double. Skied with @Pumba and Peter from late morning on. Had a great time with them. Lots of bumps, a few trees and pretty much all great snow. Although I did have to wait at times for as many as 6 chairs...

I spent quite a few years with Killington as my “home” mountain. This weekend definitely ranks in the top 10(maybe even top 5).

You made good time @SKI-3PO !! All in all an excellent weekend in the Catskills. As mentioned above, scott was nice enough to show Peter and I around plattekill today. Our first time there. We hope to go back again in the future. The place is a far cry from the resorty resorts we’ve become accustomed to.....It’s affordable and has a warm & welcoming soul! The best snow all day was on skiers right of the run called Northface. Based on my minimal experience skiing the east, This place reminds me of an extremely miniature version of Stowe. Plattekill has a steep front 3-4, and a fun side-area of upper and lower face

Here are some pics:

For anyone venturing to the area, we stayed at this extremely charming air bnb with an adorable bathroom. Highly recommend:

We ate at this “local” favorite for food and highly recommend:

Yes, just over 4:30 - only a few traffic slow downs and no stops

Back to topic (please)

Killington was perfect today! We went in the afternoon, and the trails were still awesome, the lines nonexistent, the snow wonderful. Just amazing.

Okay, before I run out of superlatives -

Oh, and the parking lots were full. And the lodges pretty full. The cold weather seemed to drive most skiers off the slopes. More for us! It warmed up a lot and I was not cold despite few extra layers.
