Cornice/Dave's might have a ice caps left over from last year. It's hard to believe those runs won't be open once patrol has had time to check them out carefully.

At any rate I've seen enough open today that I'd like to get up there Monday and ski Tuesday/Wednesday. If anyone here is interested, let me know.
I'll be up M-W.

Yup, check out Dave's with the lurking ice below.

Patrol set up ropes to keep people way from that ice. Nonetheless Dave's was closed today, probably because of the firm surface layer created by yesterday's mist freezing overnight.

Climax is closed because it slid to the ground during the storm.

I skied with Mothertucker and friends most of today. It was not as good I'm sure as before the mist but manageable. The unseasonably warm weather helped. But for November 21 I'll gladly take it. Full TR here:

The link above has an additional post from today. We skied mostly groomers today after quite a workout yesterday. Monument, one of the better top runs Tuesday, was rock solid Wednesday even though it had been in some sun for a couple of hours. I'm guessing that since Monday night was cloudy while Tuesday night was clear, there was a harder freeze Tuesday night. The only top run that softened was skier's left of Cornice, right side of this pic:

The other ungroomed area that softened was the face of 3. The good news is that the upcoming storm track for Sunday has been revised farther south, and the expected 5-9 inches should resurface most of what's open at Mammoth.

Did they open Upper mountain today? Wondering if it's worth early AM drive from So Tahoe vs returning to Kirkwood.
