Good call above. The storm fizzled, only bring expected snow to North Tahoe. Only an inch reported at Mammoth, so the opening is likely to be the WROD. There's some hope for snow a week or more out, but of course that's too far for any specifics.

We were all set to go for opening weekend but had to cancel our pans. Thankfully got a refund on our room, minus $50.

I think it will work out better anyways, since not too much will be open and there hasn't been very much snowfall. At least that is what I tell myself. Bummed though, so post pics when y'all do make it up!

I looked on the webcam today and saw something like the above, which gets them opened, but I always wait until they are reporting at least 5 feet of snow to make the drive. After that it is came on. Especially this coming season with work so slow. Until then, just praying for storms and surf.

Does anyone remember riding up chair 14 last year with everything filled in and the weathered pine trees looking like snow popsicles?
I was just scrolling thru my phone pics , the walls of snow in town......
It’s going to be tough to block out last year, especially early.

Thinking about heading down Thursday for opening day....anyone going? @Tricia is a bit under the weather so we might have an extra ticket for someone who wants to drive down with me?

Nobody knows what the snow future holds. SS hasn’t announced an opening date. We were in B.B. for the weekend and it was downright balmy so it’s not looking good.

Hopefully the weather over the next 5 or so days delivers enough of a base for more of the mountain to open. My first scheduled trip is mid December, but I hope I have a reason to go before then.
