WOW! 3" here but snowing steadily for the past hour.

Go enjoy that pow!

I was...but I can’t. Got boxed in early and mid-afternoon and my window is too small. Boo. Hiss.

And I freaking knew it, too. Anybody at Luv is going to be able to ski fresh lines all day off the Ridge. It’s going to be so good.

Spent half day at Winter Park this morning, and it was full on winter. Stake had 10"at 5:00 AM but it continued snowing and by the time I got to the trees off of Pano, must have been over a foot. Really, really fantastic morning. 20180316_104615~2.jpg

Ok, back to weather. There is a good looking 4 corners low in the forecast on Sunday into early Monday. This is for Bakerville.

Monday could be excellent. Calendar being cleared.

Time for me to jump into this thread. Pulled into Winter Park Monday from LCC and the tail end of The Gathering. Nicely surprised Tuesday at how decent coverage is and visited most of my favorite runs on the Jane side. Repeated Wednesday and Thursday, when it started snowing in earnest around 2:00. By 4:00, 2" of heavy, wet snow had fallen, but it made the last run down Hughes a real treat. Overnight, the storm definitely overproduced when the predicted 4-6" turned out to be an honest 10". Still snowed through the morning, heavy at times. Probably another 2". Great right side up snow, with the thick, heavy stuff of late Thursday transitioning to light, fluffy pow overnight. Best runs of the day were the trees between Blue Bell and Columbine, the trees skier's left of Pano, and Sleeper Trees. Got half a run in at Eagle Wind (from the Thunderbird traverse) before they shut it down for wind about 11:00. The Pano run came right before they shut the lift down about Noon. That ride up Pano was one of the most chilly I've ever experienced. I was really pleased to find untracked as late as noon. Never happens at Snowbird. My best day of this season... So far..

Hold off for Monday if you can. Tomorrow is going to be rugged.

Spring nailed Copper. It was firm underneath all but the very last winter snow holdouts. It finally softened again this afternoon. It's not going to soften tomorrow. Dust on crust until significant snow or sun would be my bet.

Still fun skiing today, just challenging skiing. I miss the Spaulding chalk! Gone so fast. Until next year. :(

Morning Reso was brutal. The afternoon was super fun spring bumps with a few obstacles to make it interesting.

Ice skating just a week ago. I think I'm in denial it's March 17th. :(

Weird but Friday may have been the best day for me all season. Exit left off of Sierra and head down. Snow was amazing. Did our warm up on Timber Ridge and even that run was a bunch of fun if you stayed skiers right heading down.

I have not been back in Spaulding for over a week now but I have heard it has been pretty good the last few days.

Not sure what happened to this season at Copper but it sure has gone by fast. I still have 4 passes for Luv with the option to buy a couple from a friend who has already hung up the skis and is on the bike.

Loveland was great yesterday, but the difference between yesterday and last Sunday was pretty big.

Last Sunday we skied bluebird fresh tracks all day and every run was perfect right side up powder. Yesterday there was a ton of post storm wind fill, but about halfway down you’d hit firmer and it was consistently dense and getting baked.

You can always tell when watching skiers start their turns and then pull up, and tracks start looking more Z with no spray out the turn apex.

This ocean buff was excellent for first tracks. Like petrified silk.

A layer of cream cheese over South Chutes headed to 9.

Shelling all day across various aspects. Primer Bowl here slid pretty good and still hasn’t opened this season, but other terrain did progressively open.

Best stuff up top. The boy here.

There was good chowder and cream off 8 all day. We probably did 12 runs on various aspects as the gentler pitch areas were better as the day went on.

Loveland après.

Brutal traffic. People are definitely hanging them up.

Tomorrow should be yummy. Problem is if there are school delays, too. If it’s too yummy here then I probably can’t get the yummy there.

It’s nuking then, because I checked that like 30 mins ago and there was nothing.

Have fun - right now it doesn’t look good for me and should be a killer day. I may try to play leftovers on Tue.

I stopped about 1 to do the salad bar at Mary Jane and when I returned to my table I looked out the window and it was absolutely dumping. Seemingly out of nowhere. Big, sloppy flakes. Those transitioned to light winter flakes and it continued snowing up to about 5, sometimes hard. And the temperature dropped A BUNCH. Not as much accumulated as on Thursday by closing bell, but the last couple of runs still were pleasant. It's stopped for now, but the forecast is for it to start up in earnest again after midnight. Here's hoping for another overproducing storm. Morning will tell!

Edit: 6:20 pm and its DUMPING again!!!

We caught the 12" or so at Winter Park on Friday and got a few leftovers on Saturday especially on the Pioneer lift as it was down on Friday. Tough in the trees today. We arrived at Steamboat around 4:00 and it's coming down pretty good.

Huge flakes leaving my yoga class in Longmont. I'll be staying in the front range. Go get some!
