I'd love to hear what he thinks, as we're still looking for one.
Remember too, Chevy and GMC offered diesels in their mid size SUV's, Equinox and Terrain IIRC...from what I understand they have been discontinued, maybe there are some deals out there

Unless it comes with a documented service history and you have a good VW guy check it out, I would walk away. These can be awesome, they can also be an albatross, I would not buy one without knwoing it's history.

A friend is giving up on cars. Entirely. Apparently it was a 2011 Tiguan that broke the camel's back - and I thought about this post.

What engine does the XC90 have, 2.5T, V6, I6TT (AVOID) or V8?

Can I ask about the concern on the Volvo inline six turbo engine?

Genuinely curious, as you seem to have a lot of Volvo history, and I've got a 2013 XC60 with that engine.

Warranted for another 3 years, but was thinking this might be a longer-term keeper.

Thanks!

As much as anything with the TT was that an inline 6 was too long as a transversals mount and it compromised the transmission design.

My wife's friend bought a used 2012 with under 20k that had already had two owners. My wife tried to steer her to a Subaru instead but her friend fell in love with the VW. The first trip to VT left her stranded and it apparently went downhill from there. She now drives a Hyundai Elantra GT. :roflmao:

Ford 1.6l Turbo engine - $3,500 for Turbo replacement. That includes the $400 for the solenoid. No clue why that thing went < 70k miles, not abused, always synthetic oil.

Speaking of Ford, just amazing how manual transmissions have disappeared to be replaced by enormously complicated and expensive to fix autos. The sales guy was telling me how if you drove the Focus off the lot, by the time you got 1 block to the light it would shift 35 times.

I chose this. 2008 Lexus RX350 with 105K on it. Made a trip out to D.C and New York and was very comfortable with 4 of us. Not to find car number too. Probably a VW Golf GTI 2006 manual with 110K.

That should be pretty bulletproof and might actually still be worth something when you’re done with it.
