I see this storm is coming from the south. Hope it's not too warm. I assume the snow elevation will be pretty high.

I think this afternoon/tonight we'll get some cold air from the north and then the fun should begin. It didn't even get below freezing at 9700 ft last night.

Just out of interest, did anyone receive their pass yet? We were told at one time they were going to be mailed out if the photo stayed the same.

Mine never came and I emailed them a month or two back and they said they had issues getting them all out. They mailed it out a few days later.

I'm sitting down here watching this storm fly towards Flagstaff and it is dumping rain.

Dumping at the top of Sunrise.

Snowbowl saying 4" which appears accurate looking at the webcam. They were able to run the snowmaking all night which helps.

More on the way...

They still claim to be opening Friday which may be optimistic.

The Snowslide Snotel is reporting 13-14". The southern storms deposit snow weird because they have to pop over the ridges. I'm betting they will open tomorrow.

From the Snowbowl Blog:
"On Friday November 22, we’re planning to open the Grand Canyon Express high-speed chairlift, accessing four intermediate trails (Midway Catwalk, Logjam, Wild Turkey, and Round Up) plus select terrain park features..."

This would be consistent with the observation of the bit of previously created base that was visibly remaining in the pic in post #44.

Should get some added accumulation tonight and another front is predicted for next week.

This is great! I’m not much of a fan of the whole, 4 names for one run thing.

I know, right? Silly. They make it sound like a bunch of runs are open.

I've got some brand new sticks and I'm eager to try them out, but not really interested to introduce them to the igneous material that inevitably peeks thru the early season snow pack. Have to wait until it's a bit more realistic. A good start to the season though, hope it keeps coming.

That man made snow they throw down really covers things up but it is just bowl side, it’s not worth getting too excited over imo. After the first pitch you are pretty much just standing on your two skis running out the flats.

Best opening day conditions I can remember. They opened Volcano, Lava, and Casino. Good pow turns were had. This storm really filled things in well considering it wasn't even a two footer. Also, I don't think I've ever seen so many drunk college kids up there. The lift line smelled like a dirty bar around 11AM.
