Finally! Skied Blue Mtn on Friday. Limited trails, snowboarders were insane (due to aforementioned limited trails), wife got run over by a snowboarder but still was great.

We got up to Mt. Rose juuuust before they closed the lifts. A short morning but still a day, I'll take it.

Short couple of runs before getting blown off Mt. Rose. With @Philpug and @Tricia. Maybe not on the slopes but in the lodge.

Just finished off Day 7 for us. Lake Louise and Sunshine in Alberta have been skiing really nice for early season.
Can't wait for Kicking Horse and Fernie open! Shaping up to be a great season.

Pnw is sort of on hold. Pretty much a 'do over' will be necessary weather wise. Sort of looking ugly.

Finally day 1.
I just had to try the new stuff even if it was challenging conditions in the terrain.

Two so far. After a promising start, temperatures reached 18C in Vancouver last week. Local hills are open thanks to human made snow. Whistler is fairing better but the freezing level it 2,500 meters last week. Season is off to a normal start I'd say.

Oh, I didn't mention day 8?

I happened upon an acquaintance and occasional PugSki poster on my first chair - an ambitious 10:45am start. He's been working on his PSIA level 2, so I got an impromptu private lesson in carving on greens. The snow was lovely - soft and almost corn-y at the warmest part of the day.
