Yesterday a man died in an avalanche in Ramond Cataract near Tuckerman Ravine. Raymond Cataract is located northeast of Tuckerman Ravine and is between it and Huntington Ravine.

Way to early to talk about this, but the Boston Ski Expo is coming up and I'd like to check out some skis.
What would you recommend for doing the Tuckerman Ravine? Current quiver is Stöckli Laser SC, Blizzard Brahma and Renoun Z90. I guess the Brahma's or Z90's could work (can they?), but I...
yup. but not by me....Our camp director joined one of our mountain trips and lugged his ski stuff up the ravine trail, booted up and made something like 6 turns. I am jealous!
He is not so sure that it was worth the effort, but did have a smile on his face when telling the story...

Question: who would be interested in a Tuckerman Day? Open to all... Hiking up to the base of the ravine ("lunch rocks") and soaking in the spectacle can be a very fun day if you don't feel like lugging ski gear all the way in...

Just curious, I've hiked around this time of year before but since we had an excellent snow year is there any snow anywhere in New England or the Gaspe as of August 20?
Obviously I don't mean skiable snow but are there still some gully caches around Tuckermans or at the base of slides? Or is...

There has always been discussion about Tucks and the amazing hike, ski and party that happens in the spring.
This year - however - Tucks is not in its normal glory.
