Stoked! I got an email today telling me that I had qualified for the NASTAR nationals! Unfortunately I won't be able to make it, but it was cool to hear that. Must be an old guy thing... I'll have to look up the stats, I think the PugSki.com Friends & family team was in the top 10%...
Howdy, all. I have a couple of questions that I'm hoping someone who is more gear-savvy can answer.
I've been running NASTAR at Sunapee this season. Been having a good time, and seeing some progress. Dropped from a mid-40s handicap to (very) high 20s so far, and would love to see if I can't get...

First off, I want to thank everyone who posts here - I've been learning a ton reading all this wisdom since joining up last month!
My kids started racing this season and I've decided to get back into gates as well (after a two-decade hiatus). Our local hill in Iowa has the kids running Nastar...
I noticed that in the National Pacecsetting Trials a few days ago at Copper that they gave everyone the same Handicap of .01 even though their times were very different. Just wondering what was the theory behind this. Anyone know? No sign of Ted Ligity this year.

I've recently began running NASTAR and beer league races and absolutely love it.
I'm interested in buying a set of carving/racing skis for this purpose. Let me know if you have something that would work for me.
Location: Twin Cities, MN preferred but will pay shipping for the right skis.
Maybe they should put Casey Puckett back on the "A" team?

I was wondering which PugSkiers compete in NASTAR? Team PugSki anyone?
With NASTAR available at Copper and Winter Park, I figure I'll get to try some this year. I haven't raced since high school.
FYI: The NASTAR National Championships will be held March 23 – 26, 2017 at Steamboat Resort.

the challenge to improve for every kind of skier
This is one of my prized possessions. The gold medal in the middle was the first gold I got that didn’t feel like a fluke to me, and was earned after a good morning skiing with a former US Ski Team member and national team coach.
Because someone asked, (in another thread) and some may like to have a deeper understanding of the two different applications of racing.
My sense is that Beer Leagues is more localized to a mountain ( or perhaps a region) and is (mostly) night racing that is built on teams racing against each...
