    Sad news from Mt. Rose

I had heard about this but it just hit the news today. I knew of the death but not that it was a tree well incident. Please be careful out there. Read it here

    California/Nevada 2019-2020 Tahoe Ski Resorts/Conditions/Meetups Thread....

OK, we have to start sometime! It's 38° at the top of Slide Mountain this morning. Can snow making at Mt. Rose be far behind?:golfclap::roflmao::daffy:

18-19 Season - How many days so far?

An all new year another counting of the ski days. I am sure that some have their days from Wolf Creek to add but with A-Basin and Mt. Rose opening on Friday...we should see a flurry of posts. Don't forget to keep track over on Slopesquad too.

Ski lessons for 11 year old in Tahoe

Can someone recommend alternatives to the ski schools at Heavenly and Northstar? My 11 year old has tried snowboarding last year but this season wants to learn skiing.

California/Nevada Very cool history of Mt. Rose/Slide Mountain

I used to work for Washoe County Parks and a friend sent me this video. It's really a neat look into the history of our "local" Reno mountain(s). If you go up to Mt. Rose from Reno you'll pass by Galena Creek Regional Park. If you've been around long enough you may remember the sledding hill...

Top day tripper / "local hill" that would interest...

Just out of curiosity. Where are some favorite spots that people have been over the years that are not destination resorts but should not be missed. For example, I recently talked to a guy who was in-love with Soldier Mountain bc of the cat skiing...he couldn't say enough good stuff about it...
