Double shell helmets are nothing new and have been around for a while. The downside of them was, well, they looked like double shells and made you look like Big Helmet from Spaceballs. Now along comes the Giro Manifest Spherical with its N=Mold polycarbonate shell with EPS liner, progressive...
Disclaimer, only a professional with years of experience should try and match it. New personal speed record set ...101 MPH With three spotters (Thanks Boys!) and a clear run top to bottom progress was made on each run...94, 99, then 101MPH. Had the perfect combination of a long smooth run, fast...
So it looks like they have shuffled the races in Kitz and the downhill is tomorrow Friday 25th. SL on Saturday and SG on Sunday.

Full disclosure; I have a bias toward Atomic and have worked with the local rep off and on for about 7 years. There is a reason though; I love what they do. I don't get free stuff or anything for praising them.

It turns out that my city has a group of skiers organizing for carpooling to ski. Many of them are going midweek, which is great for me. It seems there are quite a few going to Sugar Bowl, and then at least one person (and I actually already know her from swimming) going to Sierra at Tahoe. I...

I noticed that in the National Pacecsetting Trials a few days ago at Copper that they gave everyone the same Handicap of .01 even though their times were very different. Just wondering what was the theory behind this. Anyone know? No sign of Ted Ligity this year.

Other threads about how we choose our skis, along with some brand recognition chatter has me wondering if the old adage "Win on Sunday, buy on Monday" still holds true in some walks of life.

I have been watching some old video from Kitzbhuel in the 70's and 80's and the finish bump looks way bigger now than it was then. The guys in 1982 barely got any air at all but from the 90's on there is huge air off that bump.
Are the recent racers going so much faster down the final schuss or...

They say if you are lucky enough to live in the mountains, you are lucky enough. Well, living in Tahoe makes me lucky, but having connections to Daron Rahlves -- U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Famer, Olympian, Hahnenkamm winner, great dad, and all-around good guy -- makes me even luckier. We...

It is getting to be that time when we starting to see something pop regarding next year's stuff. Anyone have any information, rumors or anything regarding to new gear. Have seen minor teasers for new boots by Fischer and Nordica, Anyone got anything else.
Maybe they should put Casey Puckett back on the "A" team?

So, I was inspired by the discussion in another thread about whether racers can ski bumps or bumpers can ski gates, etc. I basically agree that "great skiers can ski pretty much anything." But I wonder if there are limits to that maxim at the top level of the sport. So I propose a thought...

I'm feeling a little late to this news but its exciting for sure and something you should take a look at.
Daron Rahlves and Levi LaVallee won the Arctic Man in Alaska. After two days of delays due to weather they finished a 5 mile course with disconnects and hook ups with a snowmobile, where...
