Ironically, @Philpug posted this picture of us on the Palli lift from several seasons ago.
According to Al's blog, this is the last season for this lift.
ARAPAHOE BASIN, CO - A PICTORIAL
December 4, 2019
By Jim Kenney
PugSki Travel Correspondent
I skied Arapahoe Basin (aka A-Basin) in February and May of 2019. Characteristic of the lengthy ski seasons offered at A-Basin, it was great both times. I've made several visits to this...
IKON PASS ANNOUNCES THE ADDITION OF ARAPAHOE BASIN SKI AREA IN COLORADO FOR WINTER 2019/2020

The Colorado Dept. of Transportation will be running busses from Denver to Loveland and Arapahoe Basin during the next ski season. Don't know how many trips per day, but several at $25 for the round trip That won't cure the I-70 congestion, problems, but it sounds like a good alternative to...
Is Beartooth Basin (next to Yellowstone) any good?
How is Timberline (Mt.Hood) this year with apparently low snowpack? I assume it has to freeze overnight (a function of clear skies) for the hardpack skiing conditions to form. Early July?
Is Bariloche worth a $1500 plane ticket?
It appears that all the insider Pugs have been given the green light by the Powers That Be to let loose with their reviews of 2020 model year skis, so I figured I'd pile on with some quick notes on skis Phil and Tricia were nice enough to lay out in Colorado a few weeks ago.
Conditions: I would...
The 2018-2019 season was a whirlwind -- dare we say “Epic” -- tour for Team Pugski. Tricia and I were all over the western United States at almost 25 resorts, including more than a half-dozen Epic resorts. Even though these areas are under the Vail umbrella in one way or another, each has its...
Long time lurker...finally getting on board.
I have a conference in Denver next week, so naturally I decided to head out early to get some spring skiing in this weekend (I know...I'm a week late for the Pugski extravaganza.....). I've done plenty of skiing out west but I have never...
We, and by that I mean @SBrown has, commandeered a beach spot for Sunday, May 5th in conjunction with the 13th Annual May at A-Basin.
We will be taking donations to cover the cost as the price seems to rise a little every year.
Beach Spot 10; anyone who is attending, please consider donating...
In the past we've celebrated Mother's day at A-Basin, which started 13 years ago. Wow, has it really been that many years?
Last year we realized how difficult it is to rely on good snow and good attendance when Mother's Day was later in the month
With Mother's day on May 12th we have switched it...
@amlemus is looking for instruction in Colorado:
I moved this discussion to its own thread so it can gain some traction. Any recommendations for good private instructors in one of those areas? Thanks!
“We are very proud of how wonderful Arapahoe Basin has become from the unparalleled skiing and riding to the incredible scenery. With diverse ski runs including some of the most intense terrain in North America and a culinary operation that is regularly listed among the top ten in the country...
As many of you know, Arapahoe Basin is set to become a free agent after this 2018/2019 ski season ends. What are your predictions for what they will do? Any suggestions that might help them make their decision easier?
Since A-Basin has started making snow (https://theknow.denverpost.com/2018/09/21/arapahoe-basin-starting-snowmaking/196138/), I figured it was time for the annual threads.... So ladies, and gentleman....
Who's going to be the first to open?
My guess is Loveland on October 12th.
I'm in the early stages of trip planning.
I want to head to Colorado with a Epic Pass in hand in very late February or early March. We'll like use Frisco or Dillon or Silverthorne as a base to ski the likes of Breckenridge, A Basin, Vail, Beaver Creek and Keystone.
Can those that know advise...
Arapahoe Basin is having a lottery to win the chance to purchase a chair from the Norway Chairlift.
Full details here
It’s time to say goodbye to the Norway Lift. For 40 years, this fixed-grip double chair shuttled us to the top of the mountain, accessing some of our favorite...
It's that time again.
Coming into Denver at sunset Friday.
Today Abasin was completely packed. Instead of being the third to last car allowed in the Last Chance lot we did a u turn and went to Loveland. Loveland was mildly packed. Parked in the Valley lot.
Oh Loveland there you are ^. To the...
